Kiyose Sunflower Festival - 2019
Kiyose, Tokyo Japan
The sight of some 100,000 sunflowers entertains crowds of visitors each year!
The Kiyose Sunflower Festival started in 2008 to offer a sweeping view of brilliant yellow under the dazzling summer sun. The vast venue measuring some 24,000 square meters is ordinarily used by independent farmers to grow wheat. Sunflowers are specially cultivated for the festival, and the space is opened to the public only during the event. The sight of some 100,000 sunflowers entertains crowds of visitors each year. Kiyose City is a great producer of crops. Fresh summer vegetables such as eggplant, cucumber, and edamame are sold specially at the venue along with cut sunflowers. This is a must-visit destination, as the bright, cheerful sunflowers growing straight up toward the sun promise to share their energy with you.
