Rose festival - 2019
State Center, IA United States
Held annually since 1958, the State Center Rose Festival celebrates the history and charm of our beautiful town and historic Rose Garden. Nestled near the center of the state, our town is the perfect setting to be known as the “Rose Capitol of Iowa” and host to this tradition. Each year during the third weekend in June, the town comes alive as current residents host those who have moved away, those who are just passing through, and anyone interested in a weekend full of fun, family-centered events. Featuring a Grand Parade at 10:00 am on Saturday, the Rose Festival has something for everyone to indulge in throughout each day.
The Rose Festival “Grand Parade”
The Grand Parade is the highlight of each Rose Festival, drawing the largest crowds who line nearly a mile of street curbs to view! Thousands of people make a beeline at 10:00 am to witness over 100 floats annually make their way down our historical and beautiful main street. Among the floats this year, our Grand Parade will feature many local businesses and fire departments, the Sheltered Reality performance group, funny cars from the Za-Ga-Zig Shriners, local marching bands, and much, much more!
